Stefi Cohen has dominated the fitness community finding success in bodybuilding, powerlifting, CrossFit, boxing, and much more. With experience in maintaining the optimal weight for competing, Cohen often shares on social media tips and tricks to eating healthy and getting fit. In a recent post on Instagram, Stefi Cohen breaks the stigma of ‘clean’ foods and stresses the importance that all foods can cause weight gain when not eaten in moderation.

Having proved herself inside the gym, Stefi Cohen has trained with some of the best athletes across numerous sports. This includes the 2017 World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall, who she joined for a brutal shoulder workout. She’s also collaborated with 2017 CrossFit Games silver medalist Brent Fikowski, as the pair took on a diverse workout that included Plyo push-ups, deck squats with a kettlebell, and burpees.

Though Stefi Cohen serves as an inspiration to many, she has faced backlash as a muscular female and has had to combat negative attention in that regard. From being called a man to being told she is too big, Cohen has been a positive role model for women within the fitness community.

Dr. Stefi Cohen Highlights The Importance Of Balancing Nutritionally Dense Foods With Calorically Dense Foods

Stefi Cohen speaks up about diet and fitness often on social media debunking myths that lead to unsuccessful attempts at maintaining an optimal physique. Now, Cohen took to Instagram once again to discuss how ‘good’ and ‘bad’ foods can be misleading.

“Unless you’re adding dirt, all foods are clean.”

Cohen explains that the important thing to consider when dieting is the amount of food being consumed rather than the quality but obviously fewer calories and lots of fiber is ideal.

“When it comes to weight loss the most important variable to control is the amount of food you’re putting in your body. “Clean foods” are foods that have a low amount of calories and a high amount of nutrients. Thus, it’s more difficult to rack up calories when you’re only eating stuff that has a ton of volume, fewer calories and lots of fiber” Stefi Cohen writes.

She highlighted that you don’t have to eat a monotonous chicken and rice diet to lose weight.

“Now when it comes to HEALTH- “clean foods” are the better alternative if nutrient density is what you’re after. But let’s not sit here and pretend you have to eat chicken and rice for every meal to lose weight because you don’t. You can have your cake and eat it too if you know what I mean.”

Along with Stefi Cohen, bodybuilding great Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken a keen interest in peoples’ health around the world. In his Arnold’s Pump Club newsletter, he regularly offers guidance on proper nutrition. He recently fired shots at supplement companies for mislabeling their products as well as highlighting imbalances of fish oil, where he mentioned it doesn’t offer enough nutrients to those taking it versus consuming fish twice a week.

With nutrition front and center in the fitness and bodybuilding communities, Cohen’s advice comes at a critical time, especially considering the prevalence of weight problems in the United States. While clean foods certainly have their benefit, she underlines that no matter what the nutrition option is, moderation is key.
