Despite missing out on competitions this year, Russel Orhii has made some impressive progress in the gym. He has shared countless PRs on his Instagram, each being extremely mind-blowing. However, during his recent training session Russel managed to reach a brand new deadlift milestone, one that he has been chasing for a while. So, as can be seen in a video posted by Russel, he loaded a 365-kilogram (805-pound) deadlift and successfully locked it out.
Russel Orhii put on his lifting belt, chalked up his hands, and approached the 365-kilogram (806-pound) barbell. He then took a few seconds to get a correct conventional stance positioning, after which he grabbed the bar with a mixed grip. Russel then began his pull, easily separating the weight of the floor and only struggling in the lockout portion of the deadlift.
Having lifted over 800 pounds (362.9 kilograms) for the first time, Russel Orhii explained the significance of his accomplishment. While there are still elements of his deadlift that can be improved, he believes those will allow him to lift more weight in the future.
“BRUHHH WTF 805LBS/365KG HAS FALLEN
Look I know this wasn’t the cleanest rep but..
IDGAF THAT MFER WENT UP!!!!!!
I’m looking forward to getting cleaner reps with 800lbs and more but for now I’ll take this new milestone on my strength journey 🙏🏾”
This deadlift PR comes shortly after Russel Orhii announced that he is leaving the USAPL federation in order to return to the IPF. So, this has clearly served as motivation for him to set the new PR. Russel’s goal is to win the 2024 IPF Worlds in the 83-kilogram weight class, which seems increasingly likely.
Russel Orhii is also a natural athlete, which is why he is planning to compete in the IPF, which has high standards in regard to PEDs. He has previously undergone numerous drug tests and has not failed any. So, his new deadlift PR is even more impressive considering that his performance is not enhanced by any forbidden drugs. His new deadlift is also significantly heavier than his best pull in a competition, which shows how much he has improved in the past year.
Russel Orhii has already won two IPF World Titles and is now looking to claim his third. Moreover, Russel has taken part in a total of 18 sanctioned competitions and won 17 of them, proving himself as one of the most dominant powerlifters of today.

Russel Orhii is excited to compete at the 2024 AMP Nationals, since they are set to be his first official appearance in over a year of not competing. After that, he hopes to qualify for and win the IPF Worlds, IPF Sheffield Championships, and the IPF World Games. So, his short and long-term goals have already been decided, and now he is making sure that everything goes as planned.
