However, Rahmat is not only brilliant on the national level, but international as well, since he is one of the highest-ranked weightlifters currently. Moreover, Rahmat recently competed at the 2023 Asian Games, where he added yet another brilliant achievement to his resume. He shined during every portion of the competition, but his most impressive performance came in the Clean & Jerk. Rahmat managed to lock out 201 kilograms (443.1 pounds), thus setting a new U73KG Clean & Jerk World Record.

This year featured the 19th edition of the Asian Games which spanned over 15 days and featured dozens of sports. One of those was weightlifting, which saw Rahmat Erwin Abdullah load a 201-kilogram (443.1-pound) Clean & Jerk for his final attempt and smash it with ease. Moreover, Rahmat used only a lifting belt, knee sleeves, and wrist wraps to complete his snatch, none of which offered him a substantial boost, but were used to relieve pressure from the humongous weight.

Rahmat Erwin Abdullah also held the previous U73KG Clean & Jerk World Record of 200 kilograms (440.9 pounds), having set it at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships.
