With an expected crowd of over 20,000 people, the fight between Martyn Ford and Sajad Gharibi AKA the Iranian Hulk is almost here. Recently, the card’s entire fight lineup was announced, and the London, England mega event will go down on April 2 inside the famous O2 Arena.
The lineup of fights was first reported by The Sun. Gharibi has amassed a giant following on social media and has played a part in promoting the April showdown. The pair have been wanting to fight each other since 2018. As of this writing, streaming and broadcast options for the event have yet to be made public.
In preparation for the marquee show, the Iranian Hulk has partaken in some unusual training methods. Last month, the aspiring athlete shared a video on his Instagram page that showed him fighting a group of men simultaneously. Gharibi utilized a series of trips and grabs to nullify his opponents in the short clip. While the superstar didn’t show off any crisp boxing in the video he shared, he at least got fans pumped up for the potential showdown.
Meanwhile, Ford has been hard-at-work training for the super fight. Known for acting and bodybuilding, Ford is eager to showcase his newfound skills in the ring. The World’s Scariest Man has been training with combat athletes to help prepare his body for the big show. Ford trained alongside decorated kickboxing champion, Rico Verhoeven earlier this month and admits that he was educated in the art of striking.

Ford is believed to be pushing 300lbs with a gargantuan height of 6-foot-9-inches. Conversely, the Iranian Hulk is 6-foot-2-inches but will enter the contest likely tipping the scales at 390lbs. Some believe that Ford’s best chance at success lies in volume and evasiveness. While the Iranian Hulk will likely have the advantage if the fight enters into the clinch given his weight advantage. Nevertheless, it’s a fight between two of the biggest and most imposing men in the world.
With more boxing footage to go off of compared to Gharibi, Ford has shown himself to be quite agile in the leadup to the fight. Training camps are coming to a close and it appears the next two months are shaping up to be some of the most significant of the year. Halfthor Björnsson vs. Eddie Hall is expected to take place a few weeks before this contest and certainly adds pressure to the plates of Ford and Gharibi.
