Libyan native Kamal Elgargni prepares for an explosive rest of the season competing at not only the 2023 Olympia in the 212 division, but also at the Masters Olympia in the Open. Taking to Instagram in a recent post, Elgargni shared a stunning physique update just a few days from showtime.
Kamal Elgargni gained notoriety after winning his first appearance at the 2018 Arnold Classic. In 2019, Elgargni proved himself as the best in the world in the 212 division when he won the 212 Olympia title with a remarkable balance of conditioning and muscularity. In the following year, Kamal Elgargni came in second behind Shaun Clarida.
He was determined to regain his title but 212 Olympia gold continued to change hands. In 2021, he was unable to stop Derek Lunsford from winning first place. Elgargni settled for third but still proved he had the ability to push himself against the best in the world.
In 2022, Kamal notched a busy season, taking second at the Tampa Pro and fourth at the Texas Pro, but he chose to make these appearances in the Open division. Proceeding to the 2022 Olympia, Elgargni finished third. This year he took ninth at the 2023 Arnold Classic in the Open division as 212 wasn’t featured at this event.

After an 11-year hiatus, the Masters Olympia will take place this weekend August 26-27 in Romania. Masters Olympia was originally founded in 1994 by former president Joe Weider. The event was created with the intention of allowing older bodybuilders the opportunity to perform in their later years.
Fans are excited to see Elgargni take on all comers in an attempt to solidify his record with another prestigious title. Like the previous 2012 Masters Olympia champion Dexter Jackson, Elgargni intends to leave an imprint on the sport that will be remembered for years to come.
Having nearly perfected his preps after years of contests, Elgargni enters this show brimming with confidence. Other bodybuilding veterans have taken note too, such as event announcer Bob Cicherillo, who recently praised Kamal’s chances of success this weekend.
