Bodybuilder Joe Mackey has been making headlines for his insane feats of strength over the last few years. In a recent post made on Instagram, Mackey smashed through five reps of 990-pound hack squats.

Joe Mackey emerged as a budding IFBB Pro League prospect in 2017 after turning in a strong performance at the Ferrigno Legacy Pro. His impressive chest and arms made him a standout in the Men’s Open division. He continued competing at several shows, including the 2018 Indy Pro, 2019 New York Pro, 2020 Tampa Pro, and 2021 Chicago Pro.

Besides his achievements in bodybuilding, Mackey has made a name for himself with extraordinary strength. Mackey declared his ambitions to record a 1,000-pound deadlift PR last April. As of late, he managed to lift a heavy 900-pound raw deadlift and dedicated the epic feat to the late bodybuilding legend Cedric McMillan.

Mackey made his way to C.T. Fletcher’s Iron Wars VI in May 2022. Although he was in prep for a show and had dropped 15 pounds, he managed to pull an 850-lb deadlift. Then, he crushed a massive set of 500-pound deadlifts for 21 reps.

Joe Mackey left fans stunned with a ripped physique update ahead of last year’s pro contests. He finished fourth at the 2022 Tampa Pro and ninth at the Texas Pro, respectively. Following the competitions, Mackey returned to deadlifting again and smoked a 725-lb set for three reps.

In addition to training, Mackey is open about his diet. The 37-year-old gave fans a look into his grocery list to maximize gains in the off-season last October. For those wondering, he stuck to a clean diet rich in protein and veggies while minimizing processed foods.

Joe Mackey showed off his unreal strength by leveling up his PR to an insane 910-lb (412.7-kg) deadlift at C.T. Fletcher’s Iron Wars VII earlier this year. He joined forces with powerlifting sensation Larry Wheels to help him achieve his mission of lifting a 1,000-lb deadlift.

Last month, Mackey devoured an epic cheat meal that consisted of a range of fried foods, wings, and deep-fried desserts from Fat Shack. He revealed his preference to time his cheat meals after fasted cardio or a heavy workout.
