Bodybuilding icon Flex Lewis has cemented his place in the history books as the greatest Men’s 212 competitor of all time. In a recent post made on Instagram, Lewis shared a jacked physique update along with the diet and training guidelines he’s using to pack on more weight.

James ‘Flex’ Lewis was a mainstay of the 212 division over the last decade. He found a passion for fitness early in life and made a name for himself on the regional circuit. He boasted an impeccable blend of muscle mass, shape, and overall balance. In 2011, he narrowly missed out on the win to Kevin English at the Mr. Olympia competition.

Flex Lewis returned stronger than ever the following year and secured his first Sandow trophy. Once he took the throne, Lewis proved to be a dominant champion as he racked up seven consecutive 212 Mr. Olympia wins in a row. Besides the Olympia, Lewis went on a rampage and remained undefeated as a 212 competitor from 2012 to 2018. He targeted winning in the Men’s Open class as well but moved away from the ambition after his final appearance.

The 39-year-old Welsh confirmed his retirement from professional competition last May. He opened up about the difficulties of preparing for the shows and chose to take to the sidelines to stay healthy. After hanging up his posing trunks, Lewis teamed up with social media influencer Dan Bilzerian for a grueling shoulder workout. He guided Bilzerian through the training session hosted at his Dragon’s Lair gym in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lewis embarked on a mission to downsize his physique for better health and longevity in retirement. He revealed a weight of 213.6 pounds and showed off his leaner physique post-retirement. Lewis followed that up with another retirement update where he tipped the scales at 210 pounds. He also reported positive findings after getting his blood work done. In Sep. 2022, Lewis began using a new TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) protocol specific to his blood work.

Flex Lewis showed off his massive biceps while performing an intense arms workout about five months ago. Then, he partnered with rising Men’s Open sensation Andrew Jacked to get ready for the 2022 Mr. Olympia. Lewis mentored Jacked through a lower body training session targeting quads. The duo collaborated for another taxing back workout days later.

Flex Lewis shares jacked physique update

In a recent Instagram post, Flex Lewis showed off his jacked physique while performing bicep curls. He shared that he gained a few pounds. In addition, he revealed the diet and training guidelines he’s following to achieve his goal of being 210-215 pounds.

“Physique update: 3/30/2023
-

Weight: 200lbs (Lightest 196lbs natural)

Goal: 210lbs – 215lbs (Healthy/ Athletic/ Jacked)

Cardio: 7x week
Training: 2-3 week

4-5 meals days
First and Last (Protein & Fats only)

Wake up: 4am
Bed: 930pm – 1030pm

I have worked hard on losing just under 60lbs of weight (natural) over several months, and as most know I am not one for show casing what I look like at the best of times in prep, let alone hairy off-season. Lol
But….. its TIME to START and show my fans and followers the journey. I am about 2wks in and things are starting to click i am up a few pounds. Nothing has been consistent as I have also been traveling last three weeks. Business to family time.”

Flex Lewis departed bodybuilding with a lasting legacy that’s yet to be challenged. He stands as the winningest 212 athlete in the history of the Mr. Olympia contests with seven titles. Reigning two-time champion Shaun Clarida is on the hunt to break Lewis’ record but it won’t be an easy goal to accomplish.
