2023 has been the year of the deadlifts for Denise Herber, who is one of the most elite powerlifters on earth. Originating from Germany, Denise has made it her mission to set a new All-Time World Record this year. So, she has been taking it slow and steady, making sure to improve over a longer period of time without rushing toward it. This has paid off recently when Denise Herber locked out the heaviest deadlift of her entire career, which came out to 283.5 kilograms (625 pounds). So, being joyful because of her new deadlift PR, Denise decided to share the achievement with her fans on Instagram.
Denise Herber only utilized a lifting belt for her 283.5-kilogram (625-pound) deadlift, making it raw by powerlifting standards. So, she relied purely on her strength and abilities to complete the deadlift with a conventional stance and a mixed grip. She ended up successfully locking it out, but it required tremendous effort, as it moved up quite slowly.
“Small steps for a continuous progress. It‘s not a weight which I‘m able to pull weekly even on a bad day (so obviously I had a good day) but I have a few sessions left to get used to it”

Note: Denise Herber shared two deadlifts in one video. The first one weighed 280 kilograms (617.3 pounds), while the second clip in the video is her new 283.5-kilogram (625-pound) PR.
Judging by her past two competitions where she competed in the 75-kilogram weight class, Denise Herber’s 283.5-kilogram (625-pound) deadlift could also be considered the Unofficial U75KG All-Time World Record. The current record is in the possession of Kristy Hawkins, who deadlifted 277.5 kilograms (611.8 pounds) at the 2022 WRPF American Pro.
Denise Herber also plans on taking part in the 2023 WRPF American Pro, which is also nicknamed the “Superbowl of Powerlifting”. It will take place on October 27-29, at the Salisbury Center in Manassas, VA. So, Denise will get her chance to claim the All-Time Deadlift World Record in just five weeks from now.
Denise Herber has always been a solid powerlifter, but her current shape is definitely the peak of her career so far. Overall, in the seven years that she has spent competing in powerlifting, Denise has racked up 11 sanctioned appearances. Of those 11, she managed to claim nine victories.

During her most recent competition approximately one month ago, Denise Herber attempted to break the All-Time World Record, but was unsuccessful. However, her new PR proves that she has since improved massively and is now ready to try again. So, with just a little bit of luck, Denise should accomplish her goal after years of training for it.
