Blessing Awodibu aims to rebound and earn his 2023 Mr. Olympia qualification before it’s too late. In a recent Instagram post, Awodibu showed off a physique update in prep for shows in Italy and Spain, where his conditioning looked drastically improved from weeks ago.

With broad shoulders and a full chest, the illusion of Awodibu’s waist seems even smaller, especially when he’s on stage. The Open Bodybuilder made huge waves last year in the IFBB Pro League. He kicked off the 2022 season with a win at the Indy Pro. Despite earning his qualification as a result of the victory, Awodibu bet on himself and won Steve Weinberger’s New York Pro.

Days before entering his first-ever Mr. Olympia competition, Awodibu was the center of attention during the pre-show press conference. He enjoyed a back-and-fourth with Nick Walker, but ultimately slipped on the Olympia stage. In the end, “The Boogieman” was unable to finish in the top 15.

Awodibu took advantage of his off-season and gained a considerable amount of muscle mass and size. He pushed himself to compete at the recent 2023 Chicago Pro but took fourth place. In the aftermath, Awodibu admitted that he struggled to dial in his conditioning. Though, judging from his latest update, it appears Awodibu is doing all he can to correct that weakness.

With his next competition approaching, Awodibu offered fans a look into his latest progress. He showed off an impressive front double biceps pose which accentuated the symmetry of his frame.

“Super flat but we good right here 4 weeks out & condition improving daily @cameron_cheek Lfg gang” Blessing Awodibu posted.

If Blessing Awodibu proves successful at his next show, he’ll have the opportunity to join a star-studded lineup of Olympia talent. Reigning Mr. Olympia Hadi Choopan has sent warning shot after warning shot this season. Frontrunner Derek Lunsford expects another battle with his teammate Choopan for gold. However, Nick Walker doesn’t think Choopan will be in the top two and doesn’t see him repeating as champion.

There’s also Samson Dauda, who defeated ‘The Mutant’ at the recent 2023 Arnold Classic. Dauda, coached by Milos Sarcev, plans to defeat Lunsford and Choopan in November with a thicker back. Should Dauda’s conditioning catch up to his shape, many believe he has the tools to walk away as the winner. All signs point to former two-time champion Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay attempting to earn his title back as well.

With so much talent heading to Orlando, Florida, Awodibu hopes to secure his qualification before the October 9 deadline. The biggest show of the year takes place November 2-5 in Orlando, Florida inside the Orange County Convention Center.
