Bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger remains as passionate about fitness as ever despite moving on from professional competition decades ago. In a recent edition of The Pump Daily newsletter, Schwarzenegger shared a 5-minute no-equipment workout routine to kickstart your mornings.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, a seven-time Mr. Olympia, enjoyed a glittering career as a Men’s Open competitor during the 1970s and 80s. He went up against several icons, including former three-time Mr. Olympia Sergio Oliva Jr., three-time champ Frank Zane, and Franco Columbu.

Besides boasting an incredibly jacked physique, Schwarzenegger developed a reputation for his charismatic personality and abilities on the mic. He helped take bodybuilding to new heights with his starring role in the popular 1977 docudrama Pumping Iron.

Following his retirement, Schwarzenegger worked towards achieving his dream in the world of acting. He found success in Hollywood and became a superstar with multiple blockbuster projects under his belt. He’s followed by more than 23.5 million people on Instagram and regularly educates people on living a healthy lifestyle.

Schwarzenegger offered tips for beginners who are just starting their fitness journeys last February. He stressed the importance of turning workouts into a habit through consistency. Then, he followed that up with a checklist for maintaining a healthy diet while sharing some of the best practices for rest days.

‘The Austrian Oak’ encouraged his fans to focus on developing more muscle mass than fat. He detailed the many advantages of having more muscle, which can help aid fat loss efforts and keep a healthy body weight along with other benefits.

Arnold Schwarzenegger provided a straightforward 3-step guide for crafting a workout routine that will ensure a total of 30 minutes of exercise every day. He coupled it with a full-body stretch focused on relieving pain and a quick two-minute workout challenge.

The 75-year-old is a huge proponent of using caffeine as a pre-workout to improve training session performances. Schwarzenegger listed some tips on how to use caffeine in a way that doesn’t disturb sleep. He also recommended the use of meal replacement shakes instead of consuming meals to promote weight loss.

Arnold Schwarzenegger shares 5-min no-equipment workout of the week

In a recent edition of The Daily Pump newsletter, Arnold Schwarzenegger shared a 5-minute workout routine that did not require any equipment. He backed the routine as a great warm-up or a great way to kickstart your day.

“We want to provide a workout you can do the moment you step out of bed. But don’t worry, no equipment is needed and it’s an easy and powerful way to start your day,” he wrote. “This 5-minute routine will turn on your brain, get your blood flowing, and fix tightnesses caused by a lack of mobility, so you feel and move better.

“Most of us spend our days hunched at a computer or slouching while sitting on chairs or couches. That’s not good news for your posture and can even lead to an increased chance of injury, aches, or pains.
But, if you “wake” up the muscles in your core and upper back, it can help fix your posture, and your entire body will fell the difference. This do-anywhere four-exercise circuit can be a great warmup. But, we’ve found it to be an amazing morning jumpstart. After you get up, do 1 set of each of these four exercises. Once it’s done, you’ve already taken a big step toward conquering your day.”

5 Minute Workout:

  • Cat Camel: 5-8 reps (inhale on way up, exhale on way down)
  • Kneeling thread-through to reach: 3-5 reps on each side
  • Bird Dog: 5-8 reps on each side
  • Bent over IYT 15 reps on each variation (I, Y, and T)

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a wealth of fitness knowledge. He suggested fans use wave training to push through any point of stalled progress in the gym. Then, he provided a 9-minute core workout along with reasons to incorporate bodyweight exercises for improved heart health.
