Men’s Open star Chinedu Andrew ‘Jacked’ Obiekea is already mapping out his plans for another bodybuilding contest. In a recent Instagram post, Jacked revealed he will attempt to earn his qualification for Olympia this year by winning a second Texas Pro title in August.

Andrew Jacked earned his pro card last year at the 2022 Arnold Classic Amateur show, igniting his meteoric rise in the league. While navigating his rookie season, Jacked laid claim to back-to-back victories at last year’s 2022 Texas Pro and Arnold Classic UK. Following the success, fans, and even IFBB head judge Steve Weinberger were shocked by Andrew’s potential ceiling in the sport.

In 2022, Jacked debuted in eighth at his first Mr. Olympia competition against a tough lineup. At the event, he managed to surpass a number of top threats, like William Bonac, Rafael Brandao, and Iain Valliere.

Jacked hopped back in action quickly at the 2023 Arnold Classic. Instead of being led by guru George Farah, Jacked joined the late Shawn Rhoden‘s former team, Chris Aceto and Chris ‘Psycho’ Lewis. The partnership paid off as Jacked secured third place behind runner-up Nick Walker and winner Samson Dauda.

In roughly four months, Jacked will run it back in Texas aiming to become a two-time champion on Aug. 19.

Andrew Jacked to Compete at 2023 Texas Pro, Targets Olympia Invite

On Monday, April 3, Jacked announced his plan to enter this year’s 2023 Texas Pro taking place on August 19 inside the Arlington Expo Center in Arlington, Texas.

“Here We Go Again🚶🏾‍♂️🚶🏾‍♂️ And Another ☝🏾🥇” Andrew Jacked wrote.

The competitor’s list continues to take form and fans expect a fierce show in Texas. Bodybuilding veteran Lee Labrada has mentioned his son Hunter plans on competing at the Texas Pro. Should he follow through on the idea, Hunter will have the opportunity to avenge his 2022 Olympia defeat to Jacked.

Jacked last spoke with fans following his blood work results. According to the Men’s Open standout, his health is amazing right now and his markers were more promising than ever. With a clean bill of health, Jacked hopes to earn his Olympia invitation after coming close in Ohio last month.

After Jacked’s and Samson Dauda’s latest performances, some in the sport have suggested that aesthetic physiques are steadily pushing freakier packages out of the spotlight. Olympia judge Terrick El Guindy believes the shapelier wave of athletes on the rise is bad news for bodybuilders who rely on size and conditioning to win shows.

Given the improvements Jacked made from the 2022 Olympia to the 2023 Arnold Classic, fans expect another dramatic transformation at his next contest. The point system has been removed therefore Jacked must win a pro show to qualify for this year’s Olympia event.
