In an unfortunate turn of events, Classic Physique bodybuilder, Neil Currey, has passed away at the tender age of 34. The disheartening news emerged on Monday night via RXMuscle and was later confirmed by Milos Sarcev, Currey’s one-time mentor.

Making his entrance into the IFBB world in 2019, Currey’s pinnacle moment was clinching a win in 2022, the same year he took his bow at the prestigious Olympia event. Sarcev voiced his anguish, reminiscing Currey’s radiant joy post his New York Pro victory, which etched his journey to the 2022 Classic Physique Olympia. The weight of the loss is felt deeply across the bodybuilding community.

Hailing from the UK, Neil’s fitness journey was rooted in his younger years. His affinity for football during school introduced him to weightlifting, gradually shifting his focus to bodybuilding with a disciplined regimen and nutrition plan.

Absolutely shocking, heartbreaking news – that my former athlete @neil_currey died today…taking his own life. 😔 My last/best memory of him was this smiling face after he won New York Pro and fulfilled his lifetime dream of qualifying for the Mr. Olympia. I am lost for words and filled with pain and sadness. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. RIP Neil and God bless your soul. 🙏🏻❤️
