The 2023 World’s Strongest Man competition promises to be an exciting event, featuring a diverse lineup of athletes from all over the world. From seasoned champions to up-and-coming talent, this year’s competition is sure to be one of the most intense and competitive yet. The 2023 WSM is set to take place on April 19-23, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The man to beat will once again be Tom Stoltman, as he has won the previous two editions of the World’s Strongest Man contest, making him the reigning champion. While the full lineup sheet is not yet available, it is already obvious that the battle at the 2023 World’s Strongest Man will be of epic proportions.

Several former champions are aiming to win gold again. Tom Stoltman, who will be looking to add a third win to his resume, is arguably the most notable participant on this list. However, the athlete who everyone will be paying attention to is Brian Shaw, as the 4x champion announced that the 2023 World’s Strongest Man will be his final appearance at this show. Hence, this is his last chance to win the elusive fifth title.
Although the previous champions are the favorites for the 2023 World’s Strongest Man, there are still a few names that could make a podium appearance. Luke Stoltman is one of them, as he has experience winning major shows, having previously claimed the title of 2021 Europe’s Strongest Man. One other possible podium finisher is Adam Bishop, who was crowned the 2023 Britain’s Strongest Man just days ago.
However, the year 2022 resulted in the rise of a couple of young athletes who have the potential to surprise everyone. The first one is Mitchell Hooper, a youngster who has taken the Strongman scene by storm. Hooper made his Pro Strongman debut at the 2022 WSM, but has since won three International competitions and stood on four more podiums. Some other youngsters who could make a breakthrough are definitely Pavlo Nakonechnyy and Mateusz Kieliszkowski.
