Joe Mackey is a name that has been making waves in the world of bodybuilding and strength sports. Recently, he unofficially became the first IFBB Pro bodybuilder to deadlift 910 pounds (412.7 kilograms), a feat that has been achieved by very few people. However, Joe’s ambitions are not limited to this accomplishment. He wants to reach new heights and set new records, and that’s why he sought the help of Larry Wheels, one of the greatest powerlifters in history. With Wheels by his side, Joe is confident that he can achieve his goal of deadlifting 1,000 pounds (453.6 kilograms).

Larry Wheels, known for his impressive strength, powerlifting records, and massive physique, has been a household name in the strength sports community for quite some time. He is known for his incredible work ethic, dedication, and commitment to his sport, and this is precisely what caught Joe’s eye.

“I’ve been watching Larro for over ten years… I used to watch Larry, even before I knew Larry, to get motivated before a workout. Now we are teaming up and I am obviously a student of the sport here to learn from the best to do it. So, I am looking forward to it.” said Mackey.

Larry Wheels also had a few words to say and explained how much more impressive Joe Mackey’s deadlift would be due to his aesthetic physique.

“Joe Mackey is on the journey to becoming the world’s IFBB Pro… But, you’re stopping, you’re hunting for more, your body can take more. Let’s find out what the limits are… That number (1,000-pound deadlift) has been crossed several times before with Strongman competitors and powerlifters, but they don’t look like you.”

Wheels originally wished to deadlift 1,000 pounds (453.6 kilograms), but a back injury forced him to change his mind. However, he has now found happiness in helping one of his friends and colleagues in achieving that same goal. Larry has also recently stopped using steroids and is now only on TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) which is necessary for him. However, despite that, Larry has still kept a large portion of his strength, which was displayed in his recent powerlifting mock meet.

Joe Mackey has already deadlifted 900 pounds (408.2 kilograms) last year and dedicated it to Cedric McMillan who passed away shortly before. He then focused more on bodybuilding and under the guidance of Milos Sarcev placed fourth at the 2022 IFBB Tampa Pro and ninth at the 2022 IFBB Texas Pro.

However, it seems that Joe Mackey is now back to focusing on his deadlifts and accomplishing the 1,000-pound (453.6-kilogram) milestone would definitely place him in the conversation about being one of the strongest bodybuilders in history.
