The premiere bodybuilding and fitness attraction has invaded Las Vegas, Nevada this week for 2022 Mr. Olympia. Men’s Physique competitors stormed the Olympia stage on Saturday morning Dec. 17, at 9 am for prejudging.
Several bodybuilding competitors from Men’s Physique are qualified to compete at 2022 Olympia, which is currently underway from December 15 – 18 at the Zappos Theater, located within the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino venue.
As of late, the Men’s Physique category is becoming one of the most popular in the IFBB. Brendon Hendrickson is on a mission to achieve a four-peat at this year’s Men’s Physique Olympia. In 2018, 2020, and 2021, he dominated the show with a shredded upper body.
Fans expected a few bodybuilders to emerge as frontrunners during prejudging. Aside from the reigning champion, 2021 Men’s Physique Olympia runner-up Erin Banks, third-place finisher Diogo Montenegro, and fourth-place Kyron Holden are all out to avenge their losses to Brandon last year.
There were over 60 Men’s Physique competitors vying for the Olympia title during prejudging. Head judge Steve Weinberger put them through a total of 11 callouts in addition to a number of long comparisons.
While Diogo Montenegro and Charjo Grant impressed early, they narrowly missed out on the final call out. Heading into finals, it appears to be a two-man race between Erin Banks and the reigning three-time Men’s Physique Olympia, Brandon Hendrickson.
