Powerlifter Agata Sitko Scores Three Equipped IPF Records At The 2022 World Games

It was clear that Agata Sitko is a generational talent when she managed to put some pressure on Jessica Buettner at the 2022 IPF Worlds one month ago. However, her record-breaking performances aren’t slowing down, which leaves more and more fans in awe. This time Agata dominated the 76-kilogram weight class at the powerlifting part of the 2022 World Games. A competition is being held in Birmingham, Alabama, from July 7-10.

Agata Sitko broke three Equipped IPF World Records and only missed out on the squat. First, she broke the bench press record by lifting 195 kilograms (429.9 pounds). Melnyk Tetyana held the previous record of 189 kilograms (416.7 pounds), which she set at the 2021 EPF European Open Juniors & Sub-Juniors Powerlifting Championships.

Agata Sitko then broke the Deadlift Equipped World Record with a 261-kilogram (575.4-pound) pull. Elverum Marte held the record previously, having deadlifted 250 kilograms (551.2 pounds) at the 2022 EPF European Powerlifting Championships. 

Ultimately, Agata Sitko ended up with a 726-kilogram (1,600.6-pound) Total Equipped IPF World Record. This was 64.5 kilograms (142.2 pounds) heavier than what Melnyk Tetyana totaled at the 2021 EPF European Open Juniors & Sub-Juniors Powerlifting Championships.

Agata Sitko’s Full Performance

Agata Sitko missed four attempts, which is pretty unusual for her. She even missed her first two attempts on the bench press, so she definitely felt some pressure on the final one. However, Agata kept her cool and even broke the World Record. Furthermore, all three of her Open IPF Records are also records in the Juniors division.

• 270 kilograms
• 280 kilograms — Unsuccessful
• 280.5 kilograms — Unsuccessful

Bench Press

• 195 kilograms — Unsuccessful
• 195 kilograms — Unsuccessful

Deadlift 

• 235 kilograms
• 252.5 kilograms
• 261 kilograms (575.4 pounds) — U76KG Junior & Open IPF Equipped World Record

Total — 726 kilograms (1,600.6 pounds) — U76KG Junior & Open IPF Equipped World Record

This was Agata Sitko’s 14th powerlifting competition and her eighth victory in the three years that she has competed. Agata’s resume is comparable to those of athletes with significantly more experience, despite the fact that her career is not that long. She has many World Records under her belt and now regularly takes part in the most prestigious competitions.
