Sherry Berdigan is an amazing Junior powerlifter, and her recent performance is par excellent. On April 14th, 2022 Sherry took to her Instagram account to share a video where she pulled a monstrous deadlift of 200 kg (441 lbs) in training, which is one of the greatest lifts in her still-young career. She usually weighs in at around 57 kg (125.5 lbs), so she pulled 3.5x her bodyweight.
Sherry Berdigan’s lift is unofficially equal to the current IPF Junior World Record, which Jacob Jade set at the 2021 EPF European Classic Powerlifting Championships. Sherry’s 200 kg (441 lbs) deadlift was also completely raw, as she did not even use a lifting belt to aid her in the lift. Her style of deadlifting is with a sumo stance, and it looks like she has mastered it. For a split moment, before the video ends, the pure exhilaration and happiness of Sherry Berdigan could be seen.
“I wasn’t supposed to go this heavy today but when everyone is hyping you up and telling you to hit a PR, it’s kinda hard not to 😂🤷🏽♀️.”

Sherry Berdigan has had a slow start to her powerlifting career, but she has quickly gained pace and is looking much better now. Her 200 kg (441 lbs) deadlift has equaled the IPF Junior record, but she will get the chance to make it official at the 2022 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships. The competition will take place on June 6-12, 2022, in Sun City, South Africa. This means that Sherry has almost two months to prepare, so a World Record would not be surprising.
