Reigning Olympia Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead recently shared his new bulking diet on YouTube. Olympia is set to return to its home in Las Vegas later this year. The most prestigious professional bodybuilding competition will take place from December 16th to 18th. Bumstead will attempt to win the title fourth straight time and further his legacy.

Back in December 2021, Chris Bumstead contracted Covid-19 infection and experienced severe weight loss as a result. He returned to the gym after a few weeks and is also following a bulking diet to prepare for the contest. Bumstead had shared his previous bulking diet back in January 2022. The diet he recently shared is slightly different from his previous one. However, it serves the same purpose. Ten months out of 2022 Olympia, Bumstead is sitting at 255lbs and is getting bigger by the day.

Chris Bumstead’s bulking diet

Meal 1

1344 calories

The 27-year-old typically starts his day with pancakes. However, he consumes a nutrient-rich shake about two times a week that he shared in this particular video. It consists of:

Shake

  • 70 grams oats
  • 2 scoops of whey protein isolate
  • 1 scoop fiber supplement
  • 15 to 20 grams almond butter

Bagel

  • 5 Bagel
  • Clarified Ghee butter with added Himalayan pink salt

Bumstead stated that he does not necessarily like the texture of shake with significant amount of oats. However, he prefers to blend it with ice to get the preferred texture and make it a little more enjoyable.

Meal 2

890 calories

Chris Bumstead’s second meal is a relatively simple and consists of steak and white rice. While he does not use meal prep service extensively, this one was from Mega Fit meals. He uses the service since it is a lot easier to order multiple meals at a time.

  • 7 oz certified black angus steak
  • 2 cups white rice

Meal 3

760 calories

Meal 3 is the pre-workout meal for Chris Bumstead. The composition is similar to the second meal. However, Bumstead prefers to eat chicken before workout instead of steak as he feels chicken is easy to digest than red meat. He tops the meal with hot buffalo sauce to add some flavor to it. Once again, this meal is prepared by Mega Fit meals and consists of:

  • 6 oz chicken breast
  • 2 cups white rice

Meal 4

779 calories

The post-workout meal consists of sweet potatoes and a healthy portion of ground Turkey. Chris Bumstead said that sweet potatoes tend to shrink significantly after air frying or baking them.

  • 500 grams raw weight sweet potatoes
  • 165grams ground Turkey
  • Banana

Meal 5

682 calories

The next meal is similar to the post-workout in terms of composition and consists of sweet potatoes, ground beef and avocado to balance out the proteins, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats. However, the quantity is slightly reduced. Bumstead stated that he likes to eat fats towards the end of the day and before going to bed as they keep him satiated for a longer time. He usually prefers carbohydrates over fats after the workout.

  • 170 grams ground beef
  • 300 grams raw weight sweet potatoes
  • Half avocado

Meal 6

600 calories

Chris Bumstead goes in full circle and ends his day with a protein and fiber rich shake. Apart from oats, protein powder and almond butter, CBum adds Glutamine in the shake as it helps with gut health and improves digestion.

  • 80 grams oats
  • 32 grams almond butter
  • 1 scoop Whey protein isolate

Chris Bumstead prefers to fulfill his dietary requirements through whole foods rather than dietary supplements. However, he does not mind using supplements in addition to a nutrient dense healthy natural food diet.
