RX’d

The person who was in charge of revealing the workout is the 5x Fittest Woman On Earth, Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr. The workout is a triplet of following:

15-minute time cap AMRAP (As many rounds and repetitions as possible)

  • 3 wall walks
  • 12 dumbbell snatches
  • 15 box jump-overs

Female – 35 lbs (15.9 kg) dumbbell, 20-in (50.8 cm) box

Male– 50 lbs dumbbell (22.7 kg), 24-in (61 cm) box

The final result is marked in total repetitions completed.

Wall walks have returned once again. This time two lines have been marked on the floor. While laying down, the athlete can not move his arms past the tape, until both feet are on the wall. To complete the rep, athletes must pass the line closer to the wall.

Dumbbell snatches are pretty simple. The rep must be locked out above the head, and the dumbbell has to touch the floor. The transition between the hands can be done in any way.

For box jump-overs, it is now mandatory to step down from the box. They cannot just jump down from it. Both feet must be on the box, and athletes cannot put their hands on their knees.

He is an 8x CrossFit Games veteran, but his highest placing was in the 2019 edition, where he finished in 2nd. In each of the last five years, Noah has placed in the top 10 of the CrossFit Games. In addition, this is Noah’s 12th Open.

Patrick Vellner is a 7x CrossFit veteran and is extremely successful in the sport. Although Patrick never won the CrossFit Games, he has stood on the podium 4 times. Patrick came 2nd and 3rd on two occasions each. Vellner is currently in superb shape, and this year could be very good for him.

Noah Ohlsen started extremely fast and gained an immediate advantage in reps. At one point Ohlsen had more than 5 reps more than Vellner, but at the 12:30 mark, both athletes were dead even. Patrick Vellner then proceeded to take the lead for the first time in the matchup, and keep it until the end. Both men ended up being completely exhausted, which means the workout has been successful.

  • Patrick Vellner – 330 repetitions
  • Noah Ohlsen – 322 repetitions

Bethany Shadburne vs Danielle Brandon

Bethany Shadburne is an elite-level athlete and has done many sports before CrossFit. Danielle Brandon is also a very skillful competitor, which she proves with her consistent high placings. Danielle is only 26-years-old and has taken part in the CrossFit Games. In each of those three, Danielle has claimed her spot in the top 15.

It was an extremely interesting battle between these two. A tight race up until the 12-minute mark, but Danielle proceeded to gain some pace and win it.
