The news that Madison, Wisconsin, will no longer host the 2024 CrossFit Games was made public over a month ago. However, at that point, no specific information had been provided regarding the location of the event in 2024. Luckily, great news came out recently, as CrossFit announced everything you need to know about the new 2024 CrossFit Games location. The new location will be Fort Worth, which is located in Texas.

The venue that will be hosting the 2024 CrossFit Games is Dickies Arena, a state of the art and multipurpose arena that will allow the most prestigious CrossFit competition to fully conduct any workouts needed. Moreover, the stadium will have a capacity of 10,000 seats. So, CrossFit fans will have plenty of space to watch the competition in person.

CrossFit CEO Don Faul was the first to comment on the new 2024 CrossFit Games location, expressing what attracted him and the team. One of the most important factors was the love for the sport in the region, as well as the range of options that the new venue allows them to explore.

“Fort Worth is a proven destination for high-profile events, and we’re excited to add to the growing number of sports and entertainment options at the state-of-the-art Dickies Arena. Love of sport is in the DNA of most Texans, and we can’t think of a more enthusiastic audience for the Games,” said Don Faul.

The CrossFit General Manager of Sport and Education, Dave Castro, also pointed out another important aspect of the new location. He states that this will make the visitation at the 2024 CrossFit Games more simple and easy, which should increase the number of fans watching the show on-site.

“The move to Fort Worth is the first step for where we want to take the CrossFit Games. Just as we expect our athletes to adjust during competition, we’ll need to do the same as we rethink our execution so that we can bring the Games to not only more cities in the United States, but also consider expansion overseas,” said Dave Castro.

The entire saga about where the 2024 CrossFit Games would take place turned out to be very complicated. At first, some unofficial reports came out that CrossFit was looking for a new location for its greatest competition. However, it was quickly debunked in January 2023, when CrossFit stated that they would be staying in Madison. The story did not end there, as CrossFit came out with another statement in August, saying that they would in fact not be continuing to organize the competition in the mentioned location. So, the recent news that the 2024 CrossFit Games will take place in Fort Worth is the newest update, and it seems that there won’t be any more changes in this regard.

CrossFit chose Fort Worth for a reason, as they still hope to carry the spirit of the Games, and Texas seems like the perfect location for it. Speaking of what the CrossFit Games mean to people around the world, it was displayed perfectly at the most recent edition of it. Laura Horvath inspired women to believe that they could achieve anything they envisioned. Moreover, Roman Khrennikov claimed a podium finish while injured, and Jeffrey Adler won the competition after trailing behind at the start. All of these were extremely inspiring moments, which CrossFit hopes to display at the 2024 Games as well.

Hopefully, Fort Worth, Texas, will prove to be the right choice and even exceed the expectations. However, that remains to be seen when the time comes for it to take place on August 8-11. Until then, CrossFit will slowly reveal more information about the season, including everything about the qualifying stages.
