The 2023 Tupelo Pro took place in Tupelo, MS on August 12, and featured competitors from the Classic Physique and Figure divisions. This event was an Olympia qualifier for the upcoming show this November.
Athletes have until Oct. 9 to secure qualifications for the 2023 Mr. Olympia competition. It has been more challenging to guarantee entry to the most prestigious contest of the year because there are fewer months to qualify and the point system has been removed. Athletes must win a Pro show to ensure their spot on the Olympia stage.
This year’s Olympia competition will take over Orlando, Florida from Nov. 2-5 inside the Orange County Convention Center. There are less than three months until the respective show. Jared Thompson won this weekend in Classic Physique, so he’ll have a shot at the reigning four-time champ Chris Bumstead. Meanwhile, Okyu Basar delivered gold in Figure, as a result, she’ll have a chance to battle with the highly dominant reigning Figure Olympia Cydney Gillon.
