Many men displayed incredible strength in this event, but Ondřej Fojtů was convincingly the greatest. He performed two reps more than his closest rivals and took max points at the start of the competition.

The second event was most favorable for Adam Roszkowski, who managed to complete the entire course in just 9.90 seconds. That was over 2 seconds faster than the next fastest man, Ondřej Fojtů.

Rebecca Roberts has proved a long time ago that she is the greatest Strongwoman when it comes to “moving” events. So, she once again put up a dominant display, crossing 20 meters in just 10.54 seconds, over five seconds faster than Lucy Underdown.

Event Three — Sandbag Steeplechase (August 10th — Day Two)

They then got on the other side of that bar as well, and carried the two bags for another 10 meters to load them onto the platform. Each of the two sandbags weighed 140 kilograms (309 pounds) for men and 100 kilograms (220.5 pounds) for women.

The men’s battle for top place got down to just fractions of a second, with Oskar Ziółkowski finishing just 0.02 seconds ahead of Patrick Haynes.

The women’s battle was not as close, as Lucy Underdown marched towards a second event win of the day. The sandbags did not pose any difficulty for her and her transitions between the portions of the event enabled her to beat Rebecca Roberts by nearly 3 seconds.

Event Four — Deadlift Ladder (August 10th — Day Two)

One of the simplest tests of strength and ability in Strongman, the Deadlift Ladder, was featured as the fourth event of the 2023 OSG European Championships. It tasked athletes with completing four progressively heavier deadlifts in the quickest time possible.

For men, the deadlifts weighed: 300-kg (661.5-lb) / 320-kg (705.5-lb) / 340-kg (749.5-lb) / 360-kg (793.5-lb).

For women, the deadlifts weighed: 190-kg (419-lb) / 210-kg (463-lb) / 230-kg (507-lb) / 250-kg (551-lb)

The men were once again very close, with three of the fastest finishing within just around one second of each other. Oskar Ziółkowski once again edged out the others in a tight finish and took his second consecutive event win.

It was clear that no Strongwoman would beat Lucy Underdown even before the event started, as she is the current World Record holder in the deadlift. So, all four lifts were extremely easy for Lucy, who crossed the finish line ten seconds ahead of Rebecca Roberts.

Men’s Results

  • Oskar Ziółkowski — 4 in 29.10 s

Event Five — Shield Carry (August 11th — Day Three)

The women’s shield weighed 130 kilograms (286.5 pounds) and the men’s shield came out to 190 kilograms (419 pounds).

Patrick Haynes displayed incredible resilience and mentality by carrying the shield for 56.1 meters. His only rival was Andrew Flynn who dropped the shield 5 meters before, while others were nowhere in his sight.

As with the previous moving event, Rebecca Roberts came out victorious and once again claimed the max points in style. This also got her closer to Lucy Underdown on the overall standings with everything to play for in the final event.

Event Six — Power Stairs (August 11th — Day Three)

Patrick Haynes wrapped up the final day with another event win, finishing all four implements in a time of 33.25 seconds. However, Oskar Ziółkowski was still pronounced as the overall winner after finishing in fourth.

The final event of the competition was crucial for the women, as the battle between Lucy and Rebecca was so tight that any one who won this event would be crowned as the overall winner as well. So, motivated by success, Lucy found some strength and energy in herself to finish the event in an incredible time of 34.08 seconds. This secured her the max points and overall victory.
