The beginning of a new season is always exciting for all Strongman fans because it signals a fresh start for every athlete, regardless of their performances in the previous year. So, one of the first major Strongman competitions of 2023 will be Britain’s strongest Man. This contest will take place on January 26th, 2023, in Sheffield. It will feature 12 of the nation’s greatest athletes, only one of which will win the title. The lineup has been announced on Giant Live’s official Instagram channel, which includes returning champions, World’s Strongest Man competitors, and world record holders.

Seeing that neither the reigning champion and a 2x World’s Strongest Man, Tom Stoltman, or his brother Luke, the 2021 Europe’s Strongest Man will not be competing, the title could go to whoever is the strongest at the time.

2023 Britain’s Strongest Man Lineup

  • Terry Hollands
  • Luke Richardson
  • Mark Felix
  • Louis Jack
  • Zake Muluzi
  • Adam Bishop
  • Gavin Bilton
  • Graham Hicks
  • Paul Smith
  • Ryan Benett
  • Shane Flowers
  • Andy Black

The victory at the 2023 Britain’s Strongest Man could be claimed by anyone depending on the events. However, the fan favorite seems to be Terry Hollands, who is coming out of retirement in order to put on a show for his son. Hollands has already won Britain’s Strongest Man contest in 2007, so he knows how it feels.

One of the most iconic British Strongman athletes most renowned for his grip strength, Mark Felix, will also be gunning for the title once again as the oldest athlete on the roster.

Two of the world’s greatest deadlifters, Adam Bishop and Graham Hicks will both give their all to come out victorious. Adam has won the 2020 Britain’s Strongest Man and will now have a decent shot at claiming another victory. On the other hand, Hicks has been recovering from an injury throughout the majority of this year, so he will want to make a good start to 2023. In addition, he has already displayed his incredible strength a few months ago, when he deadlifted 440 kilograms (970 pounds) for two reps.

Gavin Bilton won the 2021 UK’s Strongest Man contest, and will now hope to repeat the act at the 2023 Britain’s Strongest Man. That will be a very difficult task, seeing that apart from the aforementioned athletes, the 2023 Britain’s Strongest Man will also mark a comeback of the incredible Luke Richardson, who tore his bicep earlier this year.

Pa O’Dwyer was initially a part of the lineup, but had to withdraw due to an injury. Taking his place will be the 2x Scotland’s Strongest Man, Andy Black.
